A repeat of the popular Crossbreed Blend with beautiful fleece from several cross-breed ewes – Bluefaced Leicester, Cheviot and Cotswold mixed breeds). The resulting yarn picks up slight drape and sheen from the longwool ancestry, softness from BFL genes and a bounce and lightness from the Cheviot influence. It is a light DK weight and is lovely to knit with. The 2019 version of Cross Breed Blend has a beautiful natural grey shade but is otherwise similar to the 2017 and 2018 versions.
Nat Raedwulf of Wolf and Faun Knits designed her beautiful Tearmann Shawl with three skeins of Crossbreed Blend (from the 2018 batch – the 2019 batch is very similar and has the same m/100g). These sets are perfect for this lovely shawl and give several colour options, including the original Autumn Gold and Natural Grey. Nat’s test knitters have used a variety of colours which helps give a feel for how the shawl looks in alternate colours. If you look here you can see the various colours knit to date, including some blue and grey shawls similar to the indigo sets I have prepared.
