The Perspectives collection celebrates the delight of spending time outdoors, especially in the mountains, and the mental reset that even the simplest picnic, walk or swimming adventure in beautiful surroundings can bring.
‘To spend time in these landscapes – infinitely healing, infinitely refreshing – is to spend time deepening your relationship with yourself. The more you immerse yourself in the wonder of the outside world, the more the world falls away, leaving you with the only view that matters: a newly clear perspective on your own life.’
Perspectives is co-edited by Julie Rutter, of Black Isle Yarns, and Emily K Williams, of Flutterbyknits – who, working as friends, draw inspiration from the Scottish Highlands, their home, and from the warm and comforting wool of the local sheep. All six designs are created in Julie’s Auchen yarn which launched earlier this year and is locally grown and naturally dyed.
Auchen yarn for the Perspectives designs can be found by following these links: Undyed Auchen, Dyed Auchen, and Mini Sets for Balvatten Mittens, Inshriach Hat and Eanaich Shawl.
As well as the six designs, beautifully photographed by Jeni Reid and illustrations from Katie Green, the book includes essays on ‘The Wool Story’, ‘The Book Story’ and ‘The Places’.
Print copies of Perspectives include a Ravelry download code for a PDF copy. If you’d prefer a PDF copy by email please add a note at checkout.
