Terms and conditions of sale

1. Ownership of Black Isle Yarns

Name: Julie Rutter trading as Black Isle Yarns www.blackisleyarns.co.uk

Address: Black Isle Yarns, 4 Boniface gardens, Fortrose, Highland, IV10 8RP

Contact: mail@blackisleyarns.co.uk/07940100975

2. Delivery

We will always try to process and post your order as quickly as possible, this will usually be within three working days If, for any reason there will be a delay of more than a few days, we will contact you using the email address you supplied with your order.

3. Postage and Insurance

There are two postage options for most orders, standard First Class/Small Parcel (with no insurance if the parcel is lost) or Small Parcel Tracked and Insured (insured to the value of the parcel). For an order with only the Perspectives Book you can select the cheaper large letter Perspectives Book option at checkout.

If you chose standard shipping and your parcel has not arrived safely, I may be able to reimburse you up to the value of £20, once Royal Mail has processed the lost parcel claim. If you choose tracked and insured shipping, you will be reimbursed to the value of your order.

Occasionally postage will be significantly less than charged, in which case the difference will be refunded.

4. Import tax or customs fee

Any local charges made by a mail carrier or customs and excise department on arrival of your package into the destination country are the responsibility of the buyer and are not included in the bill you pay to Black Isle Yarns. From July 1st 2021 VAT will be charged  on goods sent to the EU from the UK and the customer will have responsibility to pay the VAT and any other charges (e.g. customs, tax) applied to their parcel before it will be released to them. These charges will vary from country to country and will be out with my control.

5. Batches, dye lots and colours

Please be sure to buy sufficient skeins to complete your project as each batch of yarn is small and every naturally dyed lot is unique and we cannot guarantee to supply additional skeins at a later date.

Every effort is made to photograph items true to colour but differences in monitor settings may mean that they vary slightly from how you view them onscreen.  It is important to me that you are happy with your order and I am happy to help with choosing colours, so please do ask if you are uncertain.

All my dyed colours have been thoroughly rinsed however there may be a slight release of residual colour on washing – this shouldn’t change the overall yarn colour or alter other colours. Indigo dyed yarn may ‘crock’ slightly (which is when excess dye rubs off with handling).

If, once your order arrives, you feel the colour(s) isn’t right for you please contact me within 14 days to arrange for an exchange or refund (you will be responsible for the cost of return postage).

If there is a fault please contact me within 14 days to organise replacement or refund.

6. Yarn care

To wash your yarn and knitted items please soak in tepid water with a neutral wool wash, and then follow with a rinse soak. Remove excess water by rolling in a towel and pressing gently. Lay flat to dry.

7. Payments

Goods should be paid for in advance.

8. Copyright

The rights to the Goods and photos are owned by the Company and the Goods are protected by United Kingdom copyright laws, international treaty provisions and all other applicable national laws.
