Alex, of Hen in a Glen, designed these stunning mittens as part of Winter 2022/23’s Hirsel Collection. I am delighted that the mittens are now available as an individual pattern via Black Isle Yarns. Mini skein sets will be available from time to time and, when available, will be found here.
Inspired by the festive holidays and new year – a time for gatherings and remembrance of family and friends. People and hearts circle the mittens representing those we love. The tie cord around the wrist represents the ties that bind us.
These colourwork mittens create a very warm cosy fabric, knit in Auchen Light DK and are knitted in the round from the cuff up, have a moss stitch ribbed cuff and a joyful colourwork design for the hand and thumb.
The coordinating The Ties That Bind Us, Cowl pattern can be found here.
